The 1st CASA study visit of 2014 is taking place at March 12-13th in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Study Visit is being organised by NHS 24’s Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare, with assistance from the City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian.
The visit will focus on national initiatives for ehealth, telehealth, telecare and digital health in Scotland. The underpinning themes of chronic disease management and the integration of health and social care services will feature throughout the visit.
Day 1 will provide participants with an overview of the health and care system in Scotland, including the national health and care integration agenda. It will also provide an overview of key national strategies including Scotland’s Quality Strategy, Digital Strategy, national eHealth agenda and the National Delivery Plan for Telehealth and Telecare. NHS Lothian and the City of Edinburgh Council will describe their services for assisted living solutions.
A number of site visit options have been arranged for participants in the afternoon of Day 1 to enable them to see and hear about local assisted living services.
Day 2 will begin with further site visit options for participants before meeting up for lunch at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. The final session of the Study Visit will be with Scotland’s new Digital Health Institute where participants will hear about how academia, industry and health and care providers will work together to design, develop and deliver new innovative solutions for health and care.
The visit is of interest to regional policy makers, health and social care service planners and operational managers, experts and organisations with an interest in ehealth, telehealth and telecare and digital health; anyone with an interest in coproduction.
