Many CASA partner regions contributed and participated to this annual conference in Edinburgh, Scotland with the title: Home and Away. In the plenary part Prof. George Crooks, the director of the Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare shared the floor among others with Paul Timmers from DG CONNECT from the European Commission and the EIP AHA.

In 12 workshops a lot of issues were covered among others ‘Perspective on workforce development’, ‘empowering carers through innovation’, ‘the industry perspective’, ‘improving outcomes for hard to reach groups’ and ‘improving standards’. Mr Toni Dedeu from the Ministry of Health of Catalonia spoke in the workshop about integrating Health and Care: what role for telehealth and telecare?

Also experts from Southern Denmark were contributing in the workshop about ‘Making change happen, just do it!’ Edwin Mermans from the Province of Noord-Brabant gave an interactive session about the use of social media in innovation processes in the workshop ‘right here, right now: the role of digital media.’

The experiences in this workshop also gave input for the train-the-trainer workshop about the use of social media for all coordinators of CASA later that month in Barcelona.
